Does it seem like you’ve been gaining weight even though you haven’t made any changes to your diet or activity level? Maybe you’ve noticed that your jeans are starting to feel a little tighter, or that your face looks fuller than it usually does. You think back to what you ate the day before, the week before. It may not be much different than the foods you’ve always eaten. But your new tummy may have less to do with how much you’re eating and more to do with the state of your hormones.
If your hormones are imbalanced, your body is not running as efficiently as it should, and it can be much harder to maintain a healthy weight. Many people make the mistake of trying to eat less when they gain weight, or push themselves to extremes at the gym, but this may actually throw hormones even further out of whack. Bringing the body back into balance—and back to a healthy weight—may require a more personalized approach.
